Product Overview
With over 20 years of experience both behind a squeegee and behind the computer screen we have ample experience to separate your artwork into the most efficient and production friendly separations possible. We can accurately read your file and take the guess work out of which separation process will give you the best results. We have numerous separation tools and tricks at our disposal that will translate into more predictable results, faster press setup time and brighter more colorful prints. And the best part is when you work with us, we work with you, yes we do all the separations. We do not outsource any part of the separation process. Any and all separations and art revisions are done by us, any needs or concerns you have won't be lost in translation. Also equally as importantly, is that we will never use or share your files or information with anyone.
How To Get Started:
- Pick the type of separation you would like us to do and add it to your cart. We offer basic, basic with halftones, complex and complex +. You can read more about each separation below. or if you are not sure please email us the design at: info@filmdirectonline.com
- In the notes section please let us know how you would like it separated, ie; Simulated process, true process, spot color etc... If you're not sure, no problem we will contact you before we move forward. Also let us know if you need the files halftoned and what angle and frequency you need.
- Once we receive the file please allow 24 to 48 hrs turn around. If you don't hear from us that we means we have everything we need to get started. otherwise we will contact you with any questions.
- When the separations are complete you will receive a link to download the files along with instructions and color call outs, sequence, and suggested mesh count.
We're now offering four types of color separation services, basic spot color, basic+ half tones, complex and complex+. What's the difference?
Basic Spot Color $20:
- 1-6 colors, no halftones.
- Raster or Vector art accepted
- We'll separate the file, build the underbase, and call out suggested sequence and pantone colors.
- We'll return the file as either a channel separated Photoshop file or each color separated to it's own tif file for out put in Illustrator or Corel.
Basic Spot Color with Halftones $40:
- 1-6 colors, with up to 3 colors with halftones
- Raster or Vector art accepted
- We will separate the file, build the underbase, and call out suggested sequence and pantone colors.
- We will return the file as either a channel separated Photoshop file or each color separated to it's own tif file for out put in Illustrator or Corel. . If you don't have a rip software we'll bitmap the files so you can print them directly to your printer (Raster files only)
Complex $55:
- 4-8 colors, with up to 8 colors with halftones
- Raster or Vector art accepted
- We'll separate the file as either True 4 Color Process, Simulated Process, or Index
- We'll separate the file to your specs, build the underbase, and call out suggested sequence and pantone colors.
- We will return the file as either a channel separated Photoshop file or each color separated to it's own tif file for out put in Illustrator or Corel. . If you don't have a rip software we'll bitmap the files so you can print them directly to your printer (Raster files only)
Complex+ $85:
- 8-12 colors, with up to 12 colors with halftones
- Raster or Vector art accepted
- We'll separate the file as either True 4 Color Process, Simulated Process, or Index
- We'll separate the file to your specs, build the underbase, and call out suggested sequence and pantone colors.
- We will return the file as either a channel separated Photoshop file or each color separated to it's own tif file for out put in Illustrator or Corel. . If you don't have a rip software we'll bitmap the files so you can print them directly to your printer (Raster files only)
* Illustrator files with spot colors will require you to have a rip software for output.
We can use the following file formats :
- Adobe Illustrator (ai, eps or pdf)
- Adobe Photoshop (psd, dcs 2.0, tif) at 200dpi or higher at size
- We do not recommend using any compressed format such as jpeg or gif files.
- We do not work in Corel Draw, however files may be converted or exported to any of the above options
- Please upload the image at the time of the order to the image up-loader on this page.
- Most files are completed and returned within 1 business day of placing the order barring any issues with the art.
